Three lectures given in the Berlin branch of the Theosophical Society in May and June, 1904. Rudolf Steiner was the general secretary of the German Theosophical Society until he broke with the Theosophists in 1913 and formed the Anthroposophical Society. This lecture was published in German by the Rudolf Steiner Verlag, Dornach, Switzerland, in 2001.

These lectures are the first three lectures in the lecture series entitled, Awareness — Life — Form, published in German as, Bewusstsein — Leben — Form.
