Knowledge and Initiation - Cognition of the Christ Through Anthroposophy

Rudolf Steiner's lectures to English audiences, spoken in German, were usually divided into three parts and immediately translated into English by George Adams, whose capacity for a precise interpretation was truly remarkable. The following two lectures are shorthand records of these simultaneous translations and edited by comparing them with the texts of the original German.

The lectures were given to an audience familiar with Anthroposophy. The reader, who has no prior acquaintance with Anthroposophy, can gain the necessary background by reading Rudolf Steiner's books: “Knowledge of the Higher Worlds and How to Attain It” and “Theosophy”.

The original German texts of these lectures are published under the title: Das Sonnenmysterium und das Mysterium von Tod und Auferstehung (Vol. 211 in the Bibliographical Survey, 1961.).
