Anthroposophy,
a way of thought rather than a body of dogma, springs from the work
and teaching of Rudolf Steiner (1861 – 1925). He spoke of it as
“a path of knowledge, to guide the spiritual in the human being
to the spiritual in the universe”.
The aim of this Annual is to publish writings which
bring the outlook of Anthroposophy to bear on questions and
activities relevant to the present time.
The title derives from a reference by Rudolf Steiner to
an old Persian legend. “Djemjdid was a king who led his people
from the north towards Iran, and who received from the God, whom he
called Ahura Mazdao, a golden dagger, by means of which he was to
fulfil his mission on earth. ... It represents a force given to man
whereby he can act upon and transform external nature.”
